Moira Hegarty and her two nieces are found dead in Moira's secluded home in a Dublin suburb. Evidence suggests the sisters were imprisoned for months by their aunt, along with a third person, who, it seems has escaped. Fast forward a couple of months where a bored postal worker notices something interesting in the bin considered "undeliverable" (no postage, unreadable address etc.). He picks it up and steals it. It turns out to be the diary of one of the nieces, written during her confinement. It reveals the secrets that landed she and her sister in Dublin with a lunatic aunt as well as the spell that they both fell under for a roaming story-teller (Jim Quick). What follows is a hunt for the truth and parallel tales of knights, wolves and men who kill for sport.This was a fascinating book and was quite the page turner. The characters were so mysterious and left me wanting to get to the bottom of things. I was never sure who the "good" or "bad" guy was and I had a feverish need to figure it out. I would highly recommend reading this book. It was a great mystery/ghost story/adventure/fairy tale that left me thinking about it for days afterward.
