The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield

I'm on to The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. This is a mystery/ghost story about Vida Winter, a best-selling British writer nearing the end of her life. Throughout the last two years she's given journalists 19 different versions of her background and childhood. Because she is approaching the end of her life, however, Vida decides she wants to hire a woman named Margaret Lea, to write her actual life story. The mystery, however, is if she'll be able to reveal her troubled past and if what she does reveal is true or not. The story itself has been dubbed reminiscient of such novels as Rebecca (which I love) and Jane Eyre (another great classic). I'll let you know how it all turns out. Well, I won't tell you how it turns out but I'll let you know if it's worth the read.

Update:  Well, I've finished The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield and for me, it get 4 out of 4 stars! I loved it. It kept me up at night - turning pages, wanting to see what would happen next. Definitely a great ghost story (without being scary Mom, so you can read it) with the old, classic style. Reminiscent of Jane Eyre and Rebecca with little reminders of Steinbeck's East of Eden and the Bible. Get it. Read it. Let me know what you think.
