Eye Contact by Cammie McGovern

I am now on to my next read: Eye Contact by Cammie McGovern. It's about an autistic boy named Adam who goes missing during recess one day with another student. When they are found, the other student is dead and Adam is the only one who can give a clue as to what happened. However, the trama has sent him into a regression where he refuses or can't communicate. It is thus, his mother's job to try and discover what he saw and what happened.

So far I'm about 1/4 of the way through and it's really good. It's given me a lot of insight on how the autistic mind works considering the author is the mother of an autistic boy and has first hand experience. I'm betting the ending is going to be quite the twister...I'll let you know.

Update:  Well, I finished Eye Contact by Cammie McGovern and I must say it was fabulous. It's a really engrossing novel with a "who done it" twist that keeps you up way too late wanting to see what happens next. As a specal ed teacher it was also of interest to me because of the autistic connection. The author (through personal experience) was able to present information regarding the disorder which was new to me without sounding preachy. A definite "must read".
